Theatre - There are a variety of theatres
that you can choose from. We highly recommend seeing
as many of the shows that you can. Put on your finest
attire and make a full evening out of it. Dine at
one of the fine restaurants, take in a show and then
hit the nightlife for a nightcap. You will be so glad
that you did.
The Centro Cultural de Belém,
Praço do Império has a program of events
that seen at this theatre more than any other in Lisbon.
There are concerts at this theatre that are fantastic
as well as cultural exhibitions and events. You may
call them on the telephone for a schedule of events.
The Teatro Nacional de São Carlos was built
in 1792 and completed in the year 1795. José
da Costa e Silva designed this extraordinary theatre
with inspiration from the La Scala in Milan and the
San Carlo in Naples, which are both exceptional architectural
works. In this theatre you will be able to see the
Opera, which season lasts from September to June and
there are concerts and ballets put on there also.
The Teatro ABC, Parque Mayer and
the Teatro da Trindade are all wonderful theatres
where you will be able to enjoy wonderful entertainment
during your stay in the area. Be sure to check with
them for a schedule of performances and the dates
and times. The Teatro Casa da Comédia is the
place to go if you want to see a comedy.
