Museums - As you visit each of the museums
in Lisbon you will find much to look at and learn
about. Please make every effort to visit as many of
them as you can. You will be very glad that you took
the time to go and see them. There is so much information
in the museums.
Here are a few of the Museums in Lisbon.
The CentrCultural de Belém is one of the greatest
cultural centers in Eurpope. Take some time so see
all of its exhibits, performing arts and gardens,
restaurants and shops. The Museu Nacional de Arte
Antiga was founded in 1884. It houses sculptures,
drawings, , jewels, pottery, textiles, paintings and
furniture from the 12th to early 19th century. For
another fine museum take a look at the Museu
do Centro de Arte Moderna, which has the
twentieth century art collection of the Calouste Gulbenkian
Foundation. The Museu do Chiado has the most significant
romantic, modernist, surrealist, Portuguese art form
1850 to 1960. The museum, the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian
has the Eroupean and oriental art.
These are just a few of the different Museums
